The pre-Christmas period in Bressanone and other towns in South Tyrol is characterised by the traditional Christmas markets. The Cathedral Square in Bressanone is transformed into a fairytale place of Christmas trees, nativity scenes, glowing baubles, mulled wine and fragrant Christmas cookies.
